An Act
To authorize appropriations for fiscal year 1996 for military
activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction,
and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to
prescribe personnel strengths for such fiscal year for the Armed
Forces, to reform acquisition laws and information technology
management of the Federal Government, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of
Representatives of the United States of America in Congress
assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the `National Defense Authorization Act
for Fiscal Year 1996?.

SEC. 3. CONGRESSIONAL DEFENSE COMMITTEES DEFINED.
For purposes of this Act, the term `congressional defense
committees’ means
(1) the Committee on Armed Services and the Committee on
Appropriations of the Senate; and
(2) the Committee on National Security and the Committee on
Appropriations of the House of Representatives.
SEC. 4. EXTENSION OF TIME FOR SUBMISSION OF REPORTS.
In the case of any provision of this Act, or any amendment made
by a provision of this Act, requiring the submission of a report to
Congress (or any committee of Congress), that report shall be
submitted not later than the later of
(1) the date established for submittal of the report in such
provision or amendment; or
(2) the date that is 45 days after the date of the enactment
of this Act.
